SCWK 350 - Social Welfare Programs and Policies

Students examine the historic, economic, political, and social structures and forces that impact the development of social welfare policy at federal, state, and local levels. Students critique how policy affects human rights, social and economic justice, and the development of social welfare and services. Students engage in legislative advocacy, analyze policies relative to their role in service delivery and their influence on human rights, and develop strategies to promote social and economic justice.

Prerequisite(s): SCWK 200 and SCWK 255 or permission of the instructor.
