MUSC 225 - Digital Music Production 2 Credit(s)
Building upon the skills learned in MUSC 125 , this course offers a deeper exploration of creating and producing music using a digital audio workstation. Students will create larger music projects using software-based tools such as loops, MIDI sequencing, pitch and time correction, synthesis and sampling, and a variety of signal processors and effects. This course will also introduce basic mixing and mastering techniques for music.
Prerequisite(s): MUSC 125 with a grade of “C-” or better.
Course Frequency: S (even years)
Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes:
- Produce multitrack music projects incorporating loops, recordings, synthesized sounds, and/or sampled audio, using a digital audio workstation.
- Demonstrate an understanding of basic synthesis and sampling techniques.
- Demonstrate familiarity with audio processors, repair tools, and effects, and their proper use in in digital music productions.
