MUSC 125 - Introduction to Audio Production

An exploration of the basic tools and techniques used to record, edit, and mix audio for a variety of applications in music production and digital media. Through multiple hands-on projects, students will explore digital audio workstation software and engage in a wide range of activities related to audio production and storytelling through sound and music.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Produce professional-quality audio recordings of a variety of sound sources.
  2. Enhance recorded audio through editing, mixing, and processing using a digital audio workstation.
  3. Demonstrate journalistic audio storytelling techniques such as scriptwriting, interviewing, and soundscaping.
  4. Utilize multiple techniques to plan and execute an audio-based project in music production or digital media.
