MGMT 415 - Sport Law 3 Credit(s)
This course will demonstrate how constitutional law, contract law, tort law, and anti-trust law apply to the sport industry. In addition, the course will provide a fundamental understanding of negligence, liability for injuries, legal status of sports organizations, risk management, and crisis management.
Prerequisite(s): MGMT 315

Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes:
- Identify regulatory aspects of high school, collegiate, and professional sports.
- Analyze court cases to identify their implications for issues arising in sport management.
- Explain Title IX and how it applies to sports.
- Understand key elements of law within sports pertaining to employment, discrimination, sexual harassment, antitrust, and collective bargaining.
