A study of legal principles as they impact business. Topics include legal environment of business, contracts, business organizations, Uniform Commercial Code, government regulation of business and international law.
Prerequisite(s): Junior standing.
Course Frequency: F, S
Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes:
- Students will identify foundational concepts integral to the U.S. Legal System such as the common law, the doctrine of stare decisis, the principal of constitutionalism, judicial review, institutional sources of American law, and the trial process.
- Students will examine key principles of business law such as constitutional law, the law of contracts, Uniform Commercial Code, torts, property, criminal law, business organizations, and employment law as they pertain to business.
- Students will evaluate legal questions and hypothetical cases.
