TEAC 447 - Post-Baccalaureate Student Teaching in Secondary Instrumental Music

During this capstone field experience in instrumental music at the secondary level, teacher candidates assume responsibility for planning and delivering engaging instruction that aligns to content standards, builds on students’ prior learning and experiences, and differentiates for diverse learners. Within a safe and equitable learning environment, candidates utilize formative and summative assessment data to make instructional decisions and provide meaningful feedback to students. Participants reflect on their professional practice throughout the field experience. Compliance with legal and ethical conduct as defined by law and district policy is expected. A mandatory seminar is attached to this field experience. No other courses may be taken concurrently with student teaching. Post baccalaureate students will have an option of one placement for 12 credits or two placements for 6 credits each.

Prerequisite(s): Must have passed Teacher Education Program Checkpoint III.

Grading Method: Student option.
