A survey of the basic theories and techniques of psychological counseling.
Prerequisite(s): PSYC 100 and one 200 level psychology course.
Course Frequency: AN

Learning Outcomes:
- Describe ethics and codes of conduct as applied to the profession of counseling.
- Describe common cultural and lifespan development issues in clients which might be seen by a counselor.
- Describe how diversity and multicultural changes have effected the counseling profession.
- Critically compare major theories of counseling.
- Develop decision rules for choosing to apply a theory to a particular case.
