EXSC 192 - Introduction to Kinesiology 3 Credit(s)
This course is an introduction to kinesiology, a discipline that focuses on physical activity and the study of human movement. Throughout this course students will learn about the importance of physical activity as they explore various kinesiology-related subdisciplines and professional opportunities in those subdisciplines. In addition, students will be introduced to research principles that relate to the exercise science field.

Learning Outcomes:
- Discuss the discipline of kinesiology and its relationship to physical activity.
- Identify the minimal threshold of physical activity required for health benefits and/or fitness development.
- Explain the common barriers and motivational techniques to exercise initiation and compliance (i.e., philosophy, historical, and psychology).
- Discuss what is needed to be a professional in the physical activity world as well as the skills needed to perform such work.
