ENGL 200 - Writing Seminar

Writing Seminar follows the completion of ENGL 101 /ENGL 102  and focuses on a shared topic. Emphasis is on writing, reading, and critical analysis, culminating in the completion of a research project that contributes to an academic conversation.

Prerequisite(s): ENGL 101  or ENGL 102 .

General Education - Foundations of Collegiate Learning.
Course Frequency: F, S

Notes: Must earn a grade of “C-” or better.
Grading Method: Letter grade.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Engage with a set of core readings to develop a nuanced understanding of a current topic.
  2. Perform critical assessment of library research and media.
  3. Enter a current academic conversation and synthesize a variety of sources successfully.
  4. Build authorial expertise through a progression of papers.
  5. Accurately assess their own writing, both in-process and as a product.
