EAP 160 - Listening and Speaking for International Students I 3 Credit(s)
In this course, students will improve their academic listening and speaking skills. Students will learn various note-taking strategies and will be able to: (1) become an active listener; (2) listen to various academic lectures and identify the main points and supporting details; and (3) actively participate in group or in-class discussions. In addition, students will give short structured presentations and improve their ability to comprehend and analyze academic discourse. The course includes an accent-reduction component that focuses on helping students speak clearly and with appropriate intonation patterns.
Prerequisite(s): Permission of ESOL director.

Grading Method: Student option.
