ARTD 355 - Interactive Design 3 Credit(s)
Interactive design focuses on creative concepts of design problem solving for human-centered interaction design across a range of contexts: screen, product, and environments. Students learn to use the principles of graphic design: interactivity and usability for design, design heuristics, development, implementation, testing and updating.
Prerequisite(s): ARTD 180 , ARTD 185 , and ARTD 190 , or permission of the instructor.
Course Frequency: ALT S (odd years)
Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes:
- Utilize design heuristics, user feedback, visual hierarchy, wayfinding, color theory and psychology, and image/text synergies to create original and compelling interactive experiences.
- Participate in professional development appropriate to their specialty.
- Research and present on artists, events, and trends in their field in written, oral, and visual modalities.
- Demonstrate mastery in the media used in this course, including but not limited to: software, hardware, and other media (multimedia applications such as wayfinding, as appropriate to student specialization areas).
