AGBU 495 - Agricultural Business Internship 0-15 Credit(s)
The agricultural business internship is an intensive work experience in an agricultural business or closely allied industry that will give students the opportunity to apply knowledge gained in the classroom in a professional environment. In order to satisfy this requirement for the major, students completing AGBU 495 as a zero-credit internship (or any internship less than three credit hours) must still receive internship approval, complete all prerequisite requirements set by supervising faculty and/or the Siebens School of Business Director of Internships, and participate in the internship for a minimum of 120 hours as is required for a three credit hour internship.
Prerequisite(s): permission of the instructor.
Repeatable for credit. Course Frequency: AN
Grading Method: Pass/Fail.
Learning Outcomes:
- Apply their understanding of the functional areas of business by describing connections or lack of connections between what they have learned at BVU and what they are doing on the job.
- Apply their understanding of the functional areas of business by answering the question, ”What did I get out of this experience, from a career-planning standpoint?”
- Demonstrate Integrative Learning by discussing an assignment where he/she used creativity to accomplish a goal.
- Provide an example of business-related problem solving during the internship or other practical experience.
