MATH 074 - Introductory Mathematics with Lab

This course covers basic mathematics topics such as arithmetic of fractions, decimals, and signed numbers; percents, ratios, and proportions; basic rules and techniques for manipulation of algebraic symbols and expressions (including exponents and radicals); and solution methods, graphs, and applications of linear equations. Four lecture hours and one recitation hour. Enrollment by university placement.

  2. Solve and balance equations and inequalities using multiple algebraic techniques.
  3. Apply learned skills in solving equations to solve real-world problems.
  4. Develop linear equations and inequalities using linear graphs, slopes, and intercepts.
  5. Solve equations and inequalities with multiple variables.
  6. Manipulate polynomials.
  7. Apply multiple strategies to factor polynomial expressions.
  8. Utilize arithmetic, algebraic, and factoring methods to solve rational expressions and equations.
