BIOL 222 - Botany

A study of the anatomy, physiology, reproduction, and development of plants. Life cycles and characteristics of the monera, protista, and fungi are also considered. Three lecture hours plus two hours of laboratory per week.

Prerequisite(s): BIOL 163  and BIOL 164  or permission from instructor.

Course Frequency: ALT F

Grading Method: Student option.

Learning Outcomes:

Classify plants based on evolutionary history

Identify plant structures and define their function

Illustrate plant reproduction and life histories for each of the major phyla

Communicate the relevance of major species to humans and ecosystems
