Descriptive statistics, probability and probability distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, correlation and bivariate regression, analysis of variance. Applications involving the use of software are an integral part of the course; students who are not comfortable using basic Excel are strongly encouraged to co-enroll in ACCT 210 - Basic Excel Spreadsheets . Generally taken in the sophomore year.
Prerequisite(s): MATH 075 or university placement.
General Education Course - Foundations of Collegiate Learning - Quantitative Reasoning Elective Course Frequency: F, S
Grading Method: Student option.
Learning Outcomes:
- Generate descriptive statistics, charts, and graphs involving both discrete and continuous variables.
- Identify different types of discrete and continuous random variable distributions and calculate their probabilities.
