An introduction to the concepts of finance as applied in business environments. Topics include business organizations, analysis of financial statements, time value of money, capital markets, risk-return relationships, valuation of investment securities, capital budgeting, and debt and equity financing decisions.
Prerequisite(s): ACCT 206 , ECON 205 and ECON 206 .

- Recognize the economic, financial, and regulatory environment within which business decisions are made.
- Analyze financial statements to determine companies’ conditions and operational characteristics, demonstrating integrated learning.
- Understand and apply the concept of the time value of money.
- Measure the relationship between risk and return, and determine valuations of sources of capital, stocks and bonds.
- Use appropriate technology to solve numerical problems in financial management.
