ARTD 260 - Print Design


3 Credit(s)

Students are introduced to the principles of editorial design, historically and presently through an assortment of applications. Students are introduced to readability, legibility, grid systems, typography, color, and appropriate application both traditional and new media.

Prerequisite(s): ARTD 180 , ARTD 185 , and ARTD 190 , or permission of the instructor.

Course Frequency: ALT S (odd years)

Grading Method: Student option.

Learning Outcomes:
  1. Utilize typography, visual hierarchy, color theory, and imagery to create original and compelling print media.
  2. Participate in professional development appropriate to their speciality.
  3. Research and present on artists, events, and trends in their field in written, oral, and visual modalities.
  4. Demonstrate mastery in the media used in this course, including but not limited to: software, hardware, printers, and other media (multimedia applications such as drawing, printmaking, sculpting as appropriate to student specialization areas).
